I think when most people think of Vegas they immediately think casinos, partying, the heat and a little debauchery (“what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”), but some may be surprised about the art installations around the city.
Case in point “Seven Magic Mountains” just 10 miles south of Vegas sits Swiss artist Ugo Rondinones’s art installation. Seven 30ft high columns of colorful boulders stacked on top of each other. Described as “a creative expression of human presence in the desert.”
This exhibit opened May of 2016 and it truly is a cool thing to see. I’m a big fan of seeing things with fewer crowds so I got up early (sunrise) and there were no other people there. I was able to take some really cool shots of the boulders and the mountains behind. I’m sure sunset is just as beautiful but you will more than likely have a bunch of people there.

As of now it’s on display until the end of 2018 but they are hoping to keep it open long term.
