Our latest book club selection is not your typical cheesy boy meets girl love story. It’s a more complex story of heartbreak, perseverance, and love. Poultry farmer Chinonso Solomon Olisa comes across Ndali Obialor, a young woman atop of bridge ready to take her life. Their chance meeting results in the two falling in love and their desire to make a life together. Things become more complicated for the couple when Ndali’s wealthy family doesn’t accept the uneducated family as a suitable mate for their daughter.

Chinonso determined to better himself takes off to Cyprus to further his education, where upon arrival, he finds out that he’s been betrayed by someone he considered a friend. This is just the start of many obstacles Chinonso will face to find his way back to the women he loves. A modern-day take on Homer’s “Odyssey.”
