LAUREN HALSEY

One of my favorite things about The Met museum in New York City is The Roof Garden commissions. Each year, the museum invites a contemporary artist to create a site-specific installation for the rooftop garden. It’s a unique and dynamic way to experience art in a natural setting while enjoying panoramic views of the city.

Lauren Halsey’s art exhibit titled “The eastside of south central Los Angeles hieroglyph prototype architecture” is a stunning display of urban culture and architectural design. The exhibit at The Met museum in New York City showcases Halsey’s intricate and detailed sculptures and installations that reflect the unique experience of living in the Eastside of South Central Los Angeles. The exhibit is a must-see for anyone interested in contemporary art and urban culture. Scroll through the gallery above to see more from this amazing exhibit.

On view at The Met until October 22, 2023
