By So this is the second book I have selected to read by a South Korean author and it is a good one. This month’s read is “The Plotters” by UN-SU KIM. Translated into English tells the story of Reseng, a young assassin whose job is to kill without any sympathy or remorse. Things get complicated for him when he realizes he has a moral compass, a sense of honor, and a soul.
From the first few pages where he is plotting in the woods to kill an old man sniper style while out playing with his dog to the very last page, I didn’t want to put this book down. Un-Su Kim is a master storyteller who somehow manages to describe death by the hands of the assassin in a beautifully poetic way.
Anyone looking for a thriller with action and heart this may be the book for you.
